As with anything we value, preserving and protecting our workplace environment requires an investment of time and money. Although all officers of the CSU-AAUP are volunteers and none of us receives monetary compensation, the CSU-AAUP as an organization incurs expenses from maintaining an office and a website, distributing information to the faculty, and legal expenses to resolve disputes and negotiate/finalize contracts. To become a member, we require a completed and signed membership form which you may then scan and email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Once the form is received a small AAUP membership fee will be deducted from your pay. While all faculty enjoy the benefits of the contract, only CSU-AAUP members can participate actively in the process of discussing, developing, and improving our contract. Only AAUP members can serve as officers, on bargaining councils, on the negotiating team, or on grievance panels. Most significantly, only AAUP members can vote on agreements reached with university administration, contract issues and ratify contracts.
We ask that you please take a moment to fill out a membership form and join the CSU chapter of the AAUP. We will begin negotiating our next contract in March 2021 and would love for you to actively provide feedback and vote as part of that process.
